Realistic Expectations
Candidates must have realistic expectations about results. While Dysport and Jeuveau can dramatically reduce the appearance of wrinkles, they will not permanently eliminate them or stop aging. Touch-up injections are needed every 3-4 months to maintain results. Candidates must be committed to consistency with the treatment schedule.
Good Health
Candidates must be in good overall health to receive Dysport or Jeuveau. Those with certain neurological or muscle disorders may not be eligible. Our providers carefully screen patients for health conditions or medications that could increase the risk of side effects to ensure maximum safety.
No Active Skin Infections
People considering Dysport or Jeuveau should not have active skin infections in the target area. This includes conditions like cold sores, acne, rosacea, or rashes. An active skin infection could increase the risk of side effects and complications from the injections. Patients should postpone the procedure until this issue has been resolved.
Any Skin Type
People with all skin types can be candidates for Dysport and Jeuveau. However, those with thicker skin may require higher doses to achieve results. To reduce the risk of complications, patients should avoid tanning and sun exposure before and after treatment.
Age 18+
Dysport and Jeuveau are FDA-approved for adults 18 years and older. These medications work best on people in their 20s to 50s who begin developing dynamic wrinkles caused by facial muscle contractions. Older patients may require higher doses.
