The Condition

Why Hair Thins and Sheds

Hair loss, or alopecia, happens when follicles shrink or rest too long, so fewer new hairs replace the ones that fall. Some causes are temporary; others are gradual and ongoing.

Because the cause shapes the plan, we start with your history and pattern of thinning before recommending anything.

Know Your Pattern

Types of Hair Loss and Where PRF Fits

PRF suits thinning hair where follicles are still active. Here is how we sort common patterns.

Pattern Thinning

Inherited, gradual loss: a receding hairline or crown in men, a widening part in women.

Often a fit for PRF

Shedding After a Trigger

Heavy shedding a few months after illness, childbirth, stress or a diet change. It often settles on its own.

May support regrowth

Traction Thinning

Tight braids, ponytails, extensions or weaves thin the edges and temples. Easing the tension comes first.

Early stages may fit

Sudden or Patchy Loss

Round, smooth bald patches can signal alopecia areata, an autoimmune condition that needs a diagnosis.

See a physician first

Scarring Hair Loss

Shiny skin, redness, itching or pain where hair used to be needs prompt medical care.

See a physician first

Not Sure Which?

Many people have more than one pattern. We examine your scalp and tell you plainly whether PRF is the right next step.

Symptoms

Signs It Is Time for an Assessment

Thinning is easier to support while follicles still produce hair. These changes are worth a closer look for men and women.

  • A widening partMore scalp shows than a year ago.
  • A receding hairlineThe temples or front edge move back.
  • Thinner ponytailTies wrap more times than before.
  • More hair in the drainShedding in the shower or brush is up.
  • Thinning at the crownThe scalp shows through in photos.
  • Thinner edgesFiner hair at the temples or nape.

See a Doctor Promptly

Sudden loss, bald patches, a red, scaly or painful scalp, or shedding after a new medication needs a medical evaluation first. PRF does not replace it.

Our Approach

Our Three-Part Hair Restoration Plan

Every plan is PRF led, built around your pattern of thinning and supported between visits.

  1. PRF Scalp Treatment

Made from your blood with one slow spin, PRF is injected into thinning areas and releases growth factors gradually to stimulate follicles.

  2. SkinPen Microneedling Add-On

Tiny channels in the scalp can boost penetration and add stimulation. See SkinPen microneedling.

  3. Medical-Grade Hair Care

Shampoos, conditioners and serums support growth and scalp health between sessions.

FAQ

Hair Loss Treatment Questions

What is the difference between PRP and PRF for hair?

Both come from your own blood. PRF is spun once at a slower speed and keeps a fibrin matrix that releases growth factors gradually, while PRP releases them more quickly.

How do I stop my hair from shedding?

It depends on the cause. Shedding after a trigger often settles on its own, while pattern thinning tends to continue. We assess your scalp first, then recommend PRF, home care or a visit to your physician.

Is PRF a natural way to restore hair growth?

PRF is made from your own blood, so nothing synthetic goes into your scalp. It supports the follicles you still have, so it suits thinning hair rather than bald areas.

Does PRF hair treatment work for men and women?

Yes. Adults in good overall health with thinning hair and realistic expectations can be candidates, and your plan is built around your pattern.

How many sessions will I need, and when will I see results?

Plans use a series of sessions followed by maintenance, based on your pattern. Changes appear gradually over several months, and results vary.

Is the treatment painful?

Most patients tolerate scalp injections well. Mild tenderness, swelling or bruising can occur and usually settles within a few days.

Who should not have PRF for hair loss?

PRF is not recommended during pregnancy or while nursing. Sudden, patchy or scarring hair loss needs a medical evaluation first.
